Yoga Teacher: Yogi Ram Ji
Specialty: Meditation and Yoga Nidra

Meet Yogi Ram Ji, a seasoned yogi hailing from the culturally rich state of Odisha, India, where his family’s legacy of Ayurveda and yoga runs deep. His profound journey into yoga commenced at the tender age of thirteen under the nurturing guidance of his grandfather, right in the tranquil village of Amamunda, where he resided until the age of 17. Despite pursuing Economics and History at Gangadhar Meher College in Odisha, his thirst for spiritual wisdom remained unquenchable. He ardently attended satsangas in the ancient city of Sambalpur, a sacred place frequented by sages.
It was a pivotal moment during a satsanga with Swami Chidananda, a disciple of the revered Swami Sivananda of Rishikesh, that transformed Yogi Ram Ji’s life trajectory. This encounter ignited the flame of spiritual awakening within him, propelling him into an intense journey of self-discovery and spiritual practice. After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree and qualifying for a government administrative job in Odisha, his unwavering passion for spirituality led him to make a life-altering decision in 1998. He left his homeland and journeyed to the banks of the holy Ganges in Rishikesh.
In Rishikesh, Yogi Ram Ji’s spiritual quest continued to evolve. He initially enrolled in the Shivananda Ashram, where he immersed himself in a comprehensive yoga course. Subsequently, fate led him to Swami Vigyanananda at Yoga Niketan, propelling him deeper into the profound study of Yoga Sutra, the Bhagavad Gita, Hatha Yoga, and meditation. This period of intensive study paved the way for a deeper understanding of the spiritual sciences.
Yogi Ram Ji’s journey then took him to Swarg Ashram, where he dedicated several years to intense sadhana (spiritual practice). He even ventured into the mystical caves of the Himalayas, seeking perfection in his spiritual journey. His unwavering commitment to spiritual growth and wisdom culminated in him becoming a dedicated yoga teacher for the past 22 years in Rishikesh. Yogi Ram Ji has been a guiding light for students from around the world, imparting the profound wisdom he has gained through his extensive spiritual journey.
